Sa gitna ng tumitinding galit ng taumbayan sa flood-control corruption mess na kumakalat sa buong bansa, naglabas ng pahayag si Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, sinasabing nakakasawa na ang mga opisyal ng gobyerno na nagsisihan habang milyon-milyong Pilipino ang naghihirap dahil sa nakaw na pondo.

Sa kanyang talumpati noong Bonifacio Day, malinaw ang mensahe ni Isko:
“Maging maingat sa mga nagpapakitang inosente sa TV… kadalasan sila rin ang utak ng kalokohan.”

Pero habang sinasabi niya ito, lumalabas naman ang mga exposé nina Leandro Leviste at Zaldy Co—mga dokumentong nagpapatunay kung gaano kalalim ang kickback system at kung sino ang mga tunay na nagpasasa sa bilyong pisong flood-control funds.

At dito nagiging mas malinaw ang irony:
Habang tinutuligsa ni Isko ang “blame game,” mismong administrasyon ni Marcos Jr. ang punô ng bangayan, sumbungan, at paglalaglagan. Congressman laban sa congressman. Cabinet laban sa contractors. Allies vs allies.
Kapag malapit nang mabisto, kanya-kanyang hugas-kamay.

Sinabi pa niya:
“Kung epektibo ang revolution noong 1986, bakit nandito pa rin tayo?”
