Colonel Audie A. Mongao Withdraws Personal Support, Military Review Ongoing
Colonel Audie A. Mongao, an active-duty officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, publicly announced on Thursday that he is withdrawing his personal support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., emphasizing that his loyalty remains with the Filipino people and the Constitution.

In a statement circulated online, Col. Mongao clarified that his position was a personal decision, not a call for unrest nor a rejection of institutional discipline. He underscored that his commitment to lawful service and constitutional order remains intact.

Following the post, military authorities confirmed awareness of the statement and said that internal verification and review procedures have been initiated to determine whether any administrative rules were violated. As of this writing, no official order confirming his removal, relief, or reassignment has been issued.
Defense and governance observers stress that expressions of personal political opinion by uniformed personnel are regulated, but also emphasize that due process must be followed before any conclusions are drawn.
At present, Col. Mongao remains an active-duty officer, with the matter under review.
