Numbers 36:6 (KJV) Protect the Inheritance
Protect the Inheritance
“This is the thing which the Lord doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad…”
Numbers 36:6 (KJV)
================================
Numbers chapter thirty-six closes the entire book.
And interestingly—
It returns to a family story.
The daughters of Zelophehad.
Earlier in Numbers 27, they courageously asked for their inheritance.
God affirmed their request.
But now another concern appears.
What if they marry outside their tribe?
Would the inheritance transfer to another tribe?
Would land boundaries shift over generations?
Here is the truth:
Blessing must be protected after it is received.
God had already granted them inheritance.
But inheritance requires stewardship.
The solution was simple.
They could marry.
But within their tribe.
Not restriction for control—
Protection for covenant.
That difference matters.
God was safeguarding the structure of the Promised Land.
Every tribe had territory.
Every family had responsibility.
Generations would depend on those decisions.
The daughters obeyed.
Not reluctantly.
But faithfully.
They protected what God had entrusted to them.
And the Book of Numbers ends quietly—
With order preserved.
Inheritance secured.
And a nation standing on the edge of promise.
