Palace Seeks Swift Action vs Allegations on First Couple

Malacañang has called for immediate action to address allegations circulating online against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, emphasizing the need to confront disinformation before it spreads further.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said swift response is necessary following claims made by a vlogger alleging illegal drug use and the existence of a sensitive photo involving the First Lady. Castro stressed that the accusations lack evidence and are being circulated to damage the integrity of the First Couple.

She warned that unchecked falsehoods do not only harm individuals, but also undermine public trust and can have broader consequences for the country’s economy and tourism.

The Palace reiterated that anyone can make allegations online, but accountability requires proof — and responsibility lies with those who publish and amplify unverified claims.

In recent months, officials have increasingly pointed to the growing impact of digital disinformation, urging the public to exercise discernment and rely on verified sources rather than viral content.
