Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Drops 40 While Sick, Leads Thunder to 10th Straight Win
OKLAHOMA CITY — Even while listed as questionable due to illness, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered one of the gutsiest performances of the NBA Cup, scoring 40 points to carry the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Minnesota Timberwolves, 113–105.

Despite dealing with fever-like symptoms, SGA shot 12 of 19 from the field, went 15 of 17 from the free-throw line, and willed OKC to its 10th straight victory, making them just the fifth NBA team in history to start a season 18–1.
SGA also extended one of the most impressive streaks in the league:
He has now scored 20+ points in 91 straight games, trailing only Wilt Chamberlain (92 and 126).
He is one game away from tying Wilt’s second-longest streak.
Anthony Edwards scored 31 points and eight rebounds to keep Minnesota competitive, but OKC’s depth — and SGA’s resilience — sealed the win late. Rookie star Chet Holmgren added a clutch corner 3-pointer with 38 seconds left, closing out Minnesota’s hopes.
Kenrich Williams also made his season debut after recovering from a left knee injury, giving OKC extra lift.
With the win, OKC moves to 4–0 in NBA Cup West Group A, firmly placing themselves in knockout-round position.
The message is clear: Ill or healthy, SGA is HIM.
