Pokwang earlier issued a public apology addressing the incident, but also cautioned against sharing photos of her family online, warning that such actions could amount to cyberlibel or cyberbullying. In response, Ridon took to social media to clarify that he believed he was the lawmaker being alluded to and defended his actions.

Ridon stated that the materials he shared were factual, publicly accessible, and related to an incident that occurred in full public view. He emphasized that what was posted were photographs of Carlo Subong—the individual involved in the incident—and not images of Pokwang’s entire family.

He further argued that the public has a right to know the identities of individuals who commit crimes in public spaces, adding that transparency is necessary for accountability. Ridon rejected claims of cyberlibel or cyberbullying, maintaining that statements based on verified and publicly available information do not fall under such offenses.

The lawmaker also stressed that neither Pokwang nor her brother should be treated as victims in the controversy, asserting that the focus should remain on accountability for public safety violations. He reiterated calls for stricter consequences, including potential revocation of a driver’s license and coordination with authorities for appropriate legal action.
