“Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.”

The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has dismissed the perjury charges filed by Senator Jinggoy Estrada against former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) district engineer Brice Hernandez, citing lack of sufficient evidence.
The ruling underscores a fundamental principle of the justice system: allegations must be supported by proof.

According to the case resolution:
The elements required to establish perjury were not sufficiently met
Conflicting statements alone do not automatically amount to criminal liability
The burden of proof rests on the complainant
As a result, prosecutors ruled that the case could not prosper under the standards required by law.
Perjury is a serious offense that requires clear proof of:
A false statement
Made willfully and deliberately
Under oath
On a material matter
Without these elements firmly established, courts and prosecutors are bound to dismiss.
This outcome does not declare innocence or guilt on broader issues — it simply affirms that criminal cases cannot proceed on speculation.
Hindi sapat ang galit.
Hindi sapat ang paratang.
Sa batas,
ebidensya ang tunay na bigat.
“An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies.”
— Proverbs 12:17
Justice stands on truth —
not volume.
At a time of heightened public scrutiny involving DPWH projects and flood control controversies, this ruling reminds the public of an essential boundary:
👉 Legal accountability must pass through evidence, not political momentum.
Strong institutions survive when due process is respected, even when emotions run high.

The Office of the Ombudsman has opposed Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s planned holiday vacations to Japan, Norway, Iceland, and Austria, saying the Sandiganbayan must exercise caution as Estrada remains under active investigation for his alleged involvement in the flood-control corruption scandal.

During a recent hearing, the Sandiganbayan’s Fifth Division noted Jinggoy’s motions to travel but required him to submit more documents detailing his itinerary, flight information, hotel bookings, and a sworn undertaking not to evade legal processes.

Prosecutor Leni Padaca argued that Estrada’s travel requests come at a time when he is not only facing trial over his 11 graft charges linked to the pork barrel scam but is also being scrutinized by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), which tagged him in its look-out bulletin for his alleged role in the flood-control kickback network.
Padaca told the court that allowing Estrada to fly abroad while under multiple probes undermines accountability:
“The court must take caution. The public is watching.”
Estrada has long denied wrongdoing, but the Ombudsman maintains that projects funded through his PDAF were “ghost” or fictitious — accusations previously tied to Janet Napoles and other personalities in the high-profile scam.
With flood-control anomalies now resurfacing and linked once again to familiar political names, the Ombudsman insists that any request to leave the country must be thoroughly vetted. The court is expected to rule on the travel motions once Estrada completes his submissions.
For now, Jinggoy’s holiday itinerary remains on hold — pending the courts, the investigators, and the growing controversy surrounding the country’s infrastructure corruption network.

Ngayon (under current admin):
→ MAHIGIT ₱90 BILLION na ang nawawala.
→ WALANG NAHUHULI. Walang nakakasuhan.
→ PBBM at Martin Romualdez.
Kapag Duterte → kulong, kaso, imbestigasyon, demolition job.
“For the Lord loves justice and will not forsake His faithful ones.” – Psalm 37:28
